After the completion of the first group stage, the top two teams from each of the four groups will advance to the Super Eight stage. The first and second placed teams in their groups in the first round will retain their places in the next round regardless of their final position in the group table, provided they qualify for the Super Eight stage. England will be first in Group B and Australia second, meaning the Australians will go into Group 1 as B2 in the second round regardless of their position in the table.

England’s squad for the T20 World Cup also includes unqualified left-arm spinner Tom Hartley, who took 22 wickets in his debut Test series against India.

England vs Pakistan, 1st T20I at Leeds, ENG v PAK, May 22 2024
Gary Kirsten will begin his two-year stint as head coach of the Pakistan men’s national team on May 19 in Leeds, PCB Lahore announced on Tuesday. This will give him three days to interact with the players and other members of the coaching staff before the first game of the four-match T20I series against England on May 22 at Headingley. The series will be Pakistan’s last before the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the USA, where they will begin their campaign with a game against the USA in Dallas on June 6.

England women’s national team matches in 2024
The England women cricket (national team), led by Heather Knight, will visit 14 different venues for home international matches in 2024. The England Women’s National Team will take on Pakistan and New Zealand in 14 matches during the summer of 2024.
Heather Knight’s team will begin with a three-match IT20 series against Pakistan starting on May 11 at Edgbaston, where England played in front of nearly 20,000 fans during the Women’s Ash IT20 in July 2023.
That series will be immediately followed by three ODIs against the same opponents, culminating on May 29.
Women’s IT20 Series v Pakistan Women
- 11 May: 1st Women’s IT20 – Edgbaston, Birmingham
- 17 May: 2nd Women’s IT20 – The County Ground, Northampton
- 19 May: 3rd Women’s IT20 – Headingley, Leeds
